Interview with Sami Aslam


Sami Aslam is a Pakistani cricketer. He is a left-hand batsman and occasional right arm medium pace bowler. He was a part of the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team that took part in the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Australia. He was captain of Pakistan under-19 team during ICC World Cup 2014 in UAE.

Tell me about your school/college/university life? What is your education?

I was born in Lahore and have lived all my life in Lahore as well, my school life was very good I through out enjoyed it. I was good student in my childhood. I got some good marks in my matric exams then i went to Government College Lahore for my higher studies.

When and why you started to playing Cricket?

I am playing cricket since my childhood and my interest was on totally cricket, I always wanted to play for team Pakistan and I knew I can play for my National side. Right now I am done with my under-19 career and now looking forward for the permanent member of team Pakistan.

Who is your inspiration?

Saeed Anwar is my enthusiasm. I generally see him the way he bats I simply love it. I generally attempt to play like him however in present players you can say Suresh Raina (India) is my most loved player, he is so hit into while batting. He can hit the dish of the ground also he can stop the ball ordinarily at whatever point his team need it.

If I’m not wrong then you was in the 30-day training camp organized at Gaddafi Stadium. How you felt after training with intl. players like Misbah & Afridi?

Who is your favorite player in current Pakistan’s team?


Misbah-ul-haq is my favorite is current team because he always handles the situation and he can stay on wicket for a long time as well.


Which is your favorite shot to play?


My favorite shot is cut shot but sometimes I really like to play full against pacers.

Why our domestic cricket is not so strong?

Comparison between under-19 cricket and international level cricket?

I am looking my self in team Pakistan in next 5 years, as you know I have also participated in previous summer camp so yes selectors have an eye on me.

What do you like to do in your free time away from cricket?
I like to spent time with my family when I do not play cricket.

Which team is favorite in World Cup 2015?


I think Pakistan because we have a good bowling line up and the wickets in Australia & New Zealand are bit bouncy and our batting is not so bad as well. Our batsmen should play some positive cricket.
